Mexican Blankets and Talavera

Color. I like it. No one does color quite like the Mexican culture.  Nothing like a few bright hues to start a Monday off right!

I spent the last few days helping my mom and my brother's fiance finalize wedding/rehearsal dinner plans in San Antonio, Texas. Influenced heavily by its Mexican roots, San Antonio is a true riot of color.  Flavor your casita with these fun touches-
traditional "Talavera" pottery at the local Market
more Talavera
Mexican "Cascarones" or confetti eggs
traditional Mexican textiles at the Market
more textiles that remind me of The Crosby Street Hotel and Grace Bonney's headboard
the morning of a "Fiesta" weekend in San Antonio

Glossy Shops Atlanta: GARDEN, Perrine's and Gayle Warwick Linens

If you live in Atlanta, you've  driven by GARDEN a dozen plus times.  Likely intrigued by the verdant lush life overflowing from the leaded windows of this Howell Mill shop, you like me, wanted to go in.

Maybe you even had a tiny fender bender one day peering over your shoulder wondering greenhouse or gastropub?
Just me?  Nevermind.
Well, guys and gals get en route to GARDEN.

And when you're top heavy with terrariums, pop into Perrine's next door.  Owned by the former sommelier of Joel,  Perrine Prieur  waxes on about wine in an accent equally as intoxicating as her wares.

So anyway, last night at Perrine's I met up with Kyle, Capella, Annette, and Ginny to see Gayle Warwick's line of HAND EMBROIDERED linens.  Completely organic, each piece requires two weeks of sewing.  Truly mag-nif-i-cent and alotta cents.

I can hook you up.
Gayle is a delight and it will be so worth it.

Then invite me over, I'll bring the wine and pet your sheets.
